What Transformer ?
The Transformer is a static device , Transfers the power from one circuit to another circuits at the same frequency. It is work on the principle of mutual induction.

What are the types of Transformer?
There are Three major types of Transformer.
Core type, Shell type, Berry type.

What is Power Transformer and distrubution Transformer ? What type Transformer are used ?
The Transformers used at a generating station for steping up the generated voltage are called Power Transformers. Usually berry type Transformer used for this Porpose.
The Transformer used to distribute the power to the industries or domestics are called distribution Transformer. Usually core type and shell type Transfoermer are used for this Porpose.

What is OLTC? and state its function?
OLTC means On Load Tap Changer . It is used to change the out put voltage of the Transformer when the Transformer in working condition.

State the function of Silicagel breather ? and it is Placed ?
Silicagel breather is used to moisture conent in air its original color BLUE wet condition part. Its placed in pipeline from Conservator.

What is Bucholz realy ? and specify the function?
It is Gas-operated relay and it is used to disconnect the Transformer from the load in case any fault is arising. It is Placed in the pipe connecting in the transformer tank to Conservator.

What is A V R ?State its function?
Autometic Voltage Regulator is a power supply unit,, which provides a stable output voltage from irrespective of input voltage fluctuations within a limit.

What is the daily operation of Transformer?
1. Check the Temperature of oil
2. Check the Temperature of Winding
3. Check the dielectric strength of oil
4. Check the working and position to tap changer
5. Check the color of silicagel breather

How many Earthing is required for the transformer and Why ?
Totally FIVE earthing are provided for commissioning the transformer. That means TWO earthing required for body earthing both are interlinked together, other TWO earth pits required for neutral. Both are interlinked together and especially ONE -earthing required for lighting arrestor. It should not link to others.

What is an ACB ?
It is an ON /OFF switch means for controlling very high power circuit s of above 1000 ampears. The contacts of the ACB ( AIR CIRCUIT BREAKER) are operated in an air chamber filled with compressed air.

What is VCB ?
V C B means VACUUM CIRCUIT BREAKER it is an ON/OFF switch means for controlling very high power circuit of 2000 A .

What is RTCC ? State its function ?
RTCC means REMOTE TAP CONTROL CIRCUIT , It is used to control the output voltage of the transformer.
